The Icelandic ensemble Njúton and its American counterpart the Formalist Quartet are both dedicated to the performance of adventurous repertoires of on contemporary pieces and world premieres. They collaborate here to perform the first performance in Iceland of Grisey’s Vortex Temporum as well as the premiere of a new piece by Icelandic composer Atli Ingólfsson.

* February 9, 2008: Njúton will be performing at Bang on a Can’s San Francisco Marathon. Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco, CA.

Music by Evan Ziporyn and Icelandic composers.

* February 5, 2008: A concert included in the Dark Musik Days Festival - Reykjavík, Iceland. Works by Karólína Eiríksdóttir. Guðmundur Steinn Gunnarsson, Steingrímur Rohloff, Samson Young, Annie Gosfield and Simon Steen-Andersen

* December 7, 2007: Njúton’s first album - Roto con moto - released on Bad Taste Records. Party in the Smekkleysa Shop on Laugavegur at 5 PM. Visit us and buy the album for only 1500 IKR!
